I am Pastor Ben Kratz. I’m glad you took the time to stop by the blog! I have been a pastor for 7 years. I enjoy sharing the good news of our Savior Jesus with as people and helping people grow in their faith and life. So, I am reading through the Bible with my congregation here in Birmingham, AL, over the next two years. I will regularly post devotions on each day’s readings as well as some of the thoughts that rattled around my head as read each day’s selection. I will also include some links to materials that I have prepared to help with people’s ability to understand God’s Word. I am happy to share God’s Word with you here and grow together with you in faith. If you have questions, some thoughts you would like to share, or some ideas about how we could do this better, please let me know.
I graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. I continued my study for the pastoral ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, where I graduated in 2003 with a Masters of Divinity. Since my graduation, I have served as pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Birmingham, AL. I am married to my beautiful wife Emily and God has blessed us with 5 wonderful children.
